Library Learning Centre

The purpose-built Library Learning Centre (LLC) provides library, computing, audio-visual and study facilities for staff and students. A learning support service is also available for students. The collection houses books, journals, videos and DVDs to support the teaching, learning and resource needs of students. A range of online resources can also be accessed from the LLC website http://library.nmit.ac.nz.

The LLC has a range of study spaces available including group study rooms, a language suite and a quiet study room. There are two open access computer suites plus a training seminar room.. In the open access labs, student assistants are available at roistered times to provide support with using the computers.

Location

Much of our training is delivered at RNZAF Base Woodbourne, situated just five minutes' drive west of Blenheim. Blenheim is a friendly town and is an excellent place to live and study in. provides many services for aircraft maintenance engineering students including rental accommodation to assist with your transition to studying here. RNZAF Base Woodbourne offers a wide range of amenities including a large swimming pool, library, sports courts, fitness.

HOUSING

The RNZAF has made available to the NMIT students houses within the Base Woodbourne residential accommodation complex. These houses, which are interspersed amongst houses occupied by RNZAF Base personnel, provide three bedroom accommodation and are fully furnished. Only personal items and bedding will be required to be brought by students. The houses are all three single bedrooms, self-contained with a well-equipped kitchen, including crockery, cutlery, cooking and cleaning equipment as well as full laundry facilities. Each bedroom contains a bed, desk, chair, storage for clothing and an oil column heater. You will need to bring your own bedding and linen. There is also a lounge, furnished with a sofa and armchairs and small dining area furnished with a table and four chairs. A portable gas heater is provided but students are responsible for all gas refills. The houses are near to the Ground Training Wing at RNZAF Base Woodbourne and approximately 10 minutes drive away from Blenheim.

Code of Practice: Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Ministry of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from NMIT or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website at www.minedu.govt.nz/goto/international.
