Accommodation

The University gives priority to international students for on-campus accommodation in the first year of their course, on first come first served basis. You will receive an accommodation application pack at the same time as your offer letter. This pack will describe in detail the different types of accommodation available and will guide you through the process of booking your place in halls.

Pontypridd campus and Cardiff campus have both on campus & off campus accommodations.

On Campus halls offer en-suite facilities, internet access and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Private housing is also widely available and costs from just £45 - 50 per week. Cardiff is a student city with thousands of properties available to rent and has been recently voted the second most desirable city in the UK for students to live.

Careers Service

The University's Careers Service is able to provide professional and practical advice on a wide range of opportunities. Location

The UK is one of the first choice destinations for students from all over the world. Every year, thousands of students choose to come and study in the friendly, safe, community environment of South Wales. More than 6,620 home and international students at 10 universities across Wales recently took part in the Wales Student Barometer survey.

It found that on nearly all 38 aspects of their learning and living experience, students in Wales were more satisfied than those in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland (i-graduate, 2008). South Wales offers great value for money and the British Tourist Authority voted Cardiff the world's best value city.

As a student at Glamorgan, you'll benefit from food, entertainment and accommodation that is cheaper than in most other parts of Britain. There are many travel opportunities open to Glamorgan students. London is only 2.5 hours away, and our railway station at Treforest provides a link to Cardiff international Airport and easy, cheap exploration of mainland Europe.

Pontypridd Campus

Pontypridd campus is a self-contained village. All learning, living and leisure facilities are within easy reach, with lots of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Less than a 15 minute walk from the main campus is Glyntaff site. Here, health sciences students have lectures and tutorials in two brand new buildings. Main campus is only 20 minutes from Cardiff, Wales' vibrant capital city.

Cardiff Campus

In September 2007, the University was proud to open ATRiuM –  the new, state-of-the-art campus in Cardiff city centre. This architectural icon is home to the Cardiff School of Creative & Cultural Industries, placing this Faculty at the heart of the capital’s established arts scene. Students at this campus will still have access to all the facilities at Pontypridd, as well as some special deals in the city.

Cardiff is fewer than 10 miles from our Pontypridd campus and can be reached by a direct rail link in 20 minutes. The Welsh capital has some thing for everyone – a vibrant arts scene, top sporting venues, historical buildings, great nightlife and fantastic shopping. The city centre has a compact layout, so it is easy to explore and make the most of what it has to offer. Cardiff is a very cosmopolitan city. As well as experiencing a warm Welsh welcome, you will meet people from all over the UK, Europe and the world who live, work and study in Cardiff. A deposit must be paid before letters for visa.

Working part-time during your studies

International students are permitted to work 20 hours per week during term-time and any number of hours during vacations. The University's Careers Service, as well as the Students’ Union Employment Service, may be able to help you get temporary or part-time work while you are studying.

Working in the UK following your studies

The International Graduate Scheme (IGS) currently enables non-EEA students who have successfully Completed and gained a degree, Masters degree, PhD, or Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma  to work in the UK for up to two years upon completion of their studies.
